It is with pleasure that I send this message on the launching of the new web site of the Sri Lanka Institute of Credit management (SLICM).
Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management is the only institute in Sri Lanka authorized by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (incorporation) Act, No. 7 of 2000 to conduct courses in credit management.
Since its incorporation Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management has developed many professionals in the field of credit management and still continue in this task with developing the required skills and leadership to face the numerous challenges effectively in the industry.
Credit management has become an important subject today in the industry where professionalism and effective strategy formulation is demanded for the sustainability of organizations in the corporate sector.
To this effect, the Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management is continuously redefining its various course modules, workshops and need based training programs to meet the required skills in the industry.
And I am proud to note that the efforts of the institute has proved highly successful where we see our professional diploma courses and the training programs are in high demand in the corporate sector.
The recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) is another milestone achieved by the institute.
The objective of the MOU is to add value to the members of the two institutes by developing continuous professional development programs for uplifting their careers in the profession.
I am very confident that members of our two institutions would make use this facility to its maximum.
May I also invite our members and the passed finalists to join hands with us to strengthen the activities of the institute and achieve our objectives in making credit management a highly demanded profession in the industry.
